Super Smash Bro Esports team is excited to announce tryouts Tuesday, Dec 16th. The team is separate than our normal club and will participate in the Idaho Esports League. Fee to participate is $45 and will cover league entrance fee and jersey.

Practice and games will be held each Monday after school until 5:00pm

Unfortunately, due to the league's game schedule, we are unable to participate in Mario Kart tournaments. We will be unable to host a Mario Kart team this year.

Keslie, your incredible kindness toward others, especially toward classmates learning to speak English, is truly noticed and appreciated. Thank you for including others during the roots review, even when it meant you might not win; your energy, encouragement, and generosity make a wonderful difference.

Ronan is always quick to volunteer for anything that will help another student, often stepping in before anyone even has to ask. He consistently offers this support quietly and without seeking recognition, showing genuine kindness and initiative.

Marci can always be found supporting a student who is struggling, stepping in with kindness and patience even without being asked. Her willingness to help others truly shows how amazing she is and the awesome impact she has on those around her.

In the past week we have had several events to recognize our veterans and armed services. Last Thursday the music department held a concert playing patriotic music and recognizing our veterans. On Tuesday this week the United States Marine Corps turned 250 years old! Jerry Thomsen (USMC 1970-1976) brought in doughnuts for all of our students so we could celebrate. Wednesday we attended (and many students participated) in a Veteran's Day assembly at SFH. The music program performed several patriotic numbers, and Dr. Thomas Geary spoke to the students about his service. Thank you to all of our Veterans!

Congratulations to our November Students of the Month! If you see them around make sure to congratulate them.

Anna is great at noticing when something needs to be done, and she doesn’t wait to be asked. She goes the extra mile to help with schoolwork and makes sure her classmates and friends are doing okay too. Anna is thoughtful, dependable, and always ready to lend a hand when someone needs it.

Jordyn is always kind and helpful to others, both in class and outside of class. She’s someone you can count on because she’s responsible and dependable. Whenever someone needs help, Jordyn is quick to step in and do whatever she can to make things better.

Burton noticed that something had happened to someone and wanted to make sure they were okay. She kindly offered to help and also made a smart choice by telling someone who could do more to help. This showed that Burton cares about others and knows the right thing to do in serious situations.

NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK 2025. Balanced nutrition throughout the day contributes to student success in and out of the classroom. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) offers students fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and fat free or low fat milk with every school lunch. Updated federal nutrition standards also ensure these meals are within age-appropriate calorie levels and limit both unhealthy fats and sodium.

President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

NSLW is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the vital role that school meals play in nourishing students across the country.

NSLW highlights the hard work and dedication of school nutrition professionals who provide healthy, delicious, and affordable meals every day, ensuring students have the fuel they need to learn and thrive.

NSLW is also a great time to remember that balanced, affordable, and delicious meals are available every day in our cafeterias.

Thanks to a generous grant from Voya Financial, South Fremont Junior High started our Innovation Passport Program! Students earn stamps in their passport by completing tech challenges and demonstrating skills such as 3D modeling, digital music, prototyping and graphic design. Students will also be able to showcase projects at a STEAM Fair in the spring! This program is opening up new opportunities for students to discover what they love and what they’re capable of.

A huge thank you to Voya Financial for believing in our students and supporting innovation in rural schools like ours.
